General meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month except June and July at Golfcrest Country Club, 2509 Country Club Drive, Pearland, TX, at 10:30 a.m.

Support Our Troops

On Legislative Day, April 14, 2005, TCRW met and vowed to offer ongoing support of two young women in the Army. They recently returned from Baghdad which is a long way from their hometowns of Springfield, South Dakota, and Clayton, North Carolina - over 7000 miles. Both work in Intelligence Operations. When asked about the Texas Federation of Republican Women Legislative Day event, they replied, "We've never seen such a sea of red!" They were quite impressed.

Our conversations were very enlightening....

SGT Pyle: I joined the army because I was in school and needed some money for college. My tour of duty is over in a month and a half and I'm thinking about being a missionary.

Being sent to Iraq opened my eyes to a lot of the differences between the US and teh rest of the world. We [Americans] seriously do think way too much about ourselves. Seeing another culture, experiencing another way of life, honestly helps me realize my place in this world and hopefully work toward helping whomever I am able. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support.

SPC Belvin: I joined the army because I was in school and needed some discipline. I did get it. I have about a year and a half left, but I'll probably re-enlist.

The most significant impact that Iraq has had on me is seeing how many things we really take for granted. I have come home and thanked God, Family, Friends and People I don't even know for all the support shown to the soldiers and how much it really meant. the support keeps the soldiers going and everyone needs to know that.
