The Tri-County Republican Women’s Club is pleased to announce
a distinguished speaker for their May 12, 2009 meeting.
Harris County Judge Ed Emmett,
will speak on “The Future of the Republican Party in Texas and Beyond.”
Prior to becoming County Judge, Emmett
has had an illustrious public service career as a member of the Texas House of Representatives
(1979-1987); as chairman of the Committee on Energy; and as a member of the Transportation
Committee. In 1989, President George
H. W. Bush nominated Emmett as a Commissioner to the Interstate Commerce Commission.
He is also well known in the Houston
metro area for his leadership during the Hurricane Ike disaster.
The
Tri-County Republican Womens Club meeting is held at the Golfcrest
Country Club, 2509 Country Club Dr, Pearland. Networking begins at 10:30
a.m; business and speaker at 11:00. Lunch will follow. Cost for lunch
is $12.
